When transferring playlists to YouTube or YouTube Music with Soundiiz, you may sometimes see a generic error message such as “Error”, “Unable to create playlist”, or “An error occurred while moving the playlist”.
This usually means that YouTube refused the playlist creation for the connected YouTube channel, without returning a more specific reason to Soundiiz.
What should I check?
First, make sure that you can manually create a playlist directly on YouTube or YouTube Music using the same Google account and the same YouTube channel/sub-account that is connected to Soundiiz.
To do this:
- Open YouTube or YouTube Music.
- Make sure you are using the same Google account connected to Soundiiz.
- If you have multiple YouTube channels or sub-accounts, make sure you select the same one as the one used in Soundiiz.
- Try creating a new playlist manually.
If you cannot create a playlist manually
If YouTube or YouTube Music does not allow you to create a playlist manually, the issue must be resolved directly on YouTube’s side first.
This can happen if:
- your YouTube channel is not fully set up;
- your account needs additional validation;
- YouTube requires you to accept updated terms or complete an action;
- your channel or Google account has restrictions;
- you are using a supervised, restricted, or organization-managed Google account.
Once you can manually create a playlist on YouTube or YouTube Music, you can try transferring it again on Soundiiz.
If you can create a playlist manually
If manual playlist creation works on YouTube or YouTube Music, please reconnect your YouTube account on Soundiiz:
- Open Soundiiz.
- Go to YouTube or YouTube Music in your connected services.
- Disconnect the affected account.
- Connect it again and make sure you select the correct Google account and YouTube channel/sub-account.
- Try your transfer again.
Reconnecting the account refreshes the authorization between Soundiiz and YouTube, ensuring Soundiiz is connected to the correct YouTube channel.

If the issue persists after confirming that manual playlist creation works and reconnecting your YouTube account, please contact Soundiiz support and include:
- the YouTube or YouTube Music account concerned;
- the playlist name you tried to create or transfer;
- the approximate date and time of the error;
- a screenshot of the error if possible.
