Soundiiz always tries to transfer as many matched tracks as the destination allows. If the destination limit is reached, Soundiiz may create multiple playlist parts, stop adding tracks, or display error 106.

Before transferring a large playlist
-
Check the destination limit
Find the service you are transferring to in the table below. The destination limit applies even if the source service can hold a larger playlist. -
Check whether the destination already contains tracks
If you are adding to an existing playlist, its current tracks also use space. A new empty playlist can help only when the tracks you want to transfer fit within that service’s limit. -
Choose how to handle a larger source
Some transfer operations create numbered playlist parts automatically; see the supported destinations below. Otherwise, use Split in Soundiiz to make smaller source playlists, then transfer each part separately.
For Spotify, split an oversized source playlist before transferring: Soundiiz does not create playlist parts automatically for that destination. See the Spotify playlist limit guide.
Current playlist track limits
The values below are the operational limits currently applied by Soundiiz when creating or updating destination playlists.
These values may be lower than a platform’s theoretical limit when Soundiiz applies a safety limit for reliable playlist creation and updates.
Limits can also change when music services update their applications or APIs.
For Spotify, see the detailed guide to the 10,000-song playlist limit, Liked Songs, and offline downloads.
What happens when a playlist exceeds the limit?
For some destinations and transfer operations, Soundiiz can automatically create several numbered playlist parts.
This behavior is currently supported for:
For other destinations, Soundiiz stops adding tracks when the maximum playlist size is reached.
Tracks beyond that point may appear as Not found in the transfer report because they could not be searched for or added after the destination limit was reached. This does not necessarily mean that the tracks are absent from the destination catalog.
What is Soundiiz error 106?
Error 106 means:
This error usually appears when you try to add tracks to an existing destination playlist that has already reached, or is about to reach, its maximum size.
How to complete the transfer
If the destination does not support automatic playlist parts, you can:
- Transfer to a new empty playlist if the selected tracks fit within the destination limit. A new playlist does not increase that limit.
- Use the Soundiiz Split tool to divide an oversized source into parts below the destination limit, then transfer each part.
- Transfer a smaller track selection.
- If you want to keep using the existing destination playlist, remove tracks you no longer want there to make room.
- Choose another destination service with a higher playlist limit.
Even when a playlist is below the limit, the number of transferred tracks can be lower when some songs cannot be matched in the destination catalog.
