How to Set Up, Use, or Recover Soundiiz Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Your authenticator app is the key; backup codes are the spare
Set up 2FA once, save the ten one-use backup codes, and you will still have a route into your account if the phone or app is unavailable.

Enable 2FA

  1. Open your account settings
    In Soundiiz, go to Settings, then Account.
  2. Enable Two-Factor Authentication
    Open the setup flow and confirm your Soundiiz password when requested.
  3. Scan the QR code
    Use Authy, Google Authenticator, or another TOTP authenticator. If scanning is unavailable, enter the setup key manually.
  4. Enter the current six-digit code
    The authenticator creates a new code every 30 seconds. Enter the code that is active when you submit.
  5. Save all ten backup codes
    Each backup code works once. Store them somewhere secure that is separate from the device running the authenticator.
Do not skip the backup codes
Most 2FA recovery requests come from people who lost the authenticator and did not keep a backup code. Soundiiz does not send authenticator codes by email.

Sign in with a backup code

On the 2FA sign-in screen, switch from the six-digit authenticator code to the backup-code option. Enter one unused backup code exactly as saved. Once signed in, open Settings > Account to disable and set up 2FA again, or regenerate a fresh set of backup codes.

Regenerate or disable 2FA

Action What to expect
Show backup codes Confirm with a valid authenticator or backup code. Used codes no longer work.
Regenerate backup codes Confirm with a valid authenticator code. All old backup codes stop working and ten new codes replace them.
Disable 2FA Confirm with a valid authenticator or backup code. Future sign-ins no longer ask for a second factor until you enable it again.

Frequently Asked Questions

My six-digit code is rejected. What should I check?

Make sure the code belongs to the Soundiiz entry, then set the phone date and time to automatic. Wait for the next 30-second code and try once more.

I changed phones but still have my authenticator account. What should I do?

Restore or transfer the authenticator according to that app’s instructions. If the Soundiiz entry does not return, use one of your saved backup codes.

I lost both the authenticator and every backup code. Can Soundiiz remove 2FA?

Contact Support from the email address attached to the account. We will ask for information that can verify ownership. Without enough evidence, 2FA cannot be removed safely.

Can a backup code be used more than once?

No. Each code is invalidated after one successful use. Regenerate the list before you run out.

Locked out without an authenticator or backup code?
Contact us from the account email and include the Soundiiz username. If the account is paid, include a receipt number, never a full card number.
