How to Import a Playlist from a URL, CSV File, or Plain Text

Quick answer

Open Playlists in Soundiiz, select Import Playlist, then choose the method that matches what you have:

  • From Web URL: paste a public playlist link or a web page that lists tracks.
  • From Plain Text: paste one song per line, preferably as Artist - Title or as a track URL.
  • From File: upload a supported playlist file such as CSV, TXT, XLSX, M3U, JSON, XML or XSPF.

Do not paste a playlist link or song list into the Help Center search box. The Zendesk widget searches support articles; it does not import music. Use the Soundiiz import screen instead.

Import a playlist from a web URL

  1. Copy the playlist's share link from the source music service or website.
  2. In Soundiiz, open Playlists and select Import Playlist.
  3. Choose From Web URL.
  4. Paste the link and continue.
  5. Review the tracks Soundiiz found, configure the playlist and choose the destination.

The source playlist generally needs to be public or accessible without signing in. Soundiiz also accepts some web pages that display a readable track list.

If a URL cannot be read, connect the source service to Soundiiz and use the regular transfer flow, or export the playlist as a file and import that file.

Import songs from plain text

  1. Open Playlists and select Import Playlist.
  2. Choose From Plain Text.
  3. Paste one track per line.
  4. Review the matches, remove any incorrect result and continue.
  5. Name the playlist, choose a destination and confirm.

The clearest format is:

Daft Punk - Get Lucky
Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit

You can also place a Spotify, Apple Music or another supported track URL on its own line.

Import a playlist from a file

  1. Open Playlists and select Import Playlist.
  2. Choose From File.
  3. Upload the file.
  4. Review the detected tracks and playlist details.
  5. Choose the destination service and start the import.

Playlist imports support TXT, CSV, XLS, XLSX, JSON, XML, XSPF, M3U, M3U8, WPL, NML and PLS files.

Why are some songs not found?

Soundiiz uses the title, artist, album and available identifiers to find an equivalent song in the destination catalog. A song may be unavailable, region-restricted or listed with different metadata.

Always review the results before confirming. Adding the artist name and using one track per line improves plain-text matching.
