A short code replaced the password form

Yandex now handles the sign-in on its own page. Here is the whole flow, and what to do when it stops halfway.

How the connection works

Connecting Yandex Music no longer asks you for a login and a password. Soundiiz shows you a short code, you confirm it on Yandex, and the connection completes on its own.

A page opens with your code on it. Leave it open, it is the page that finishes the job.
Enter the code on Yandex
Copy code puts it in your clipboard, and Open Yandex takes you to the Yandex page that asks for it. Sign in to Yandex there if you are not already, then confirm.
Go back to the Soundiiz tab
It notices the confirmation by itself, with nothing left for you to click, and moves on to your music.

Your Yandex password stays with Yandex

You now type it on their page, if you are asked for it at all, and never in a Soundiiz form. Two-factor accounts go through the same way, since Yandex handles that step itself.

When the page stops before the end

The waiting page tells you what happened, and each case has one way out. None of them costs you anything already connected.

A code that has not expired yet stays valid, so coming back to the page hands you the same one rather than a new one. Once it has run out, ask for a fresh code and leave half a minute between two attempts. The surest way to make it in time is to sign in to Yandex first, in another tab, and only then start the connection.

Older advice about this no longer applies

Guides that tell you to create a Yandex password, to paste a one-time code in a password box, or to turn two-factor authentication off and on again are describing a form that no longer exists. The code is the only way in now.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where exactly do I enter the code?

On the Yandex page that the Open Yandex button takes you to. It belongs to Yandex, not to us, and it is the only place that code works.

I keep getting Invalid credentials. Is that still a thing?

Not for Yandex. That message came from the old password form and disappeared with it. The same words also show up when you sign in to Soundiiz itself, so if you are seeing them, check which of the two you are on: it is your Soundiiz password that is being refused, and that is another matter entirely.

My Yandex account is linked to Google or VK. Does that still block me?

It does not. You sign in to Yandex the way you normally do, whatever that way is, and only then confirm the code. Nothing in that step goes through Soundiiz.

Do I have to do this again later?

Only if the connection is dropped, which happens when you disconnect Yandex Music from Soundiiz, or when Yandex withdraws the permission. Everyday transfers do not ask for a new code.
