How to sort a playlist
The Sort tracks tool offers Title, Artist, Album, Position, and Duration.

Open Library > Playlists
Find the owned playlist whose stored order you want to change. -
Open Sort tracks
Use the playlist menu, select Organize, then Sort tracks.Sort tracks sits inside the Organize submenu. -
Choose the field
Select Title, Artist, Album, Position, or Duration.Position with Descending reverses the playlist's current stored order. -
Choose the direction
Select Ascending or Descending, then review the preview. -
Confirm the new order
Soundiiz applies the order to the playlist on the connected music service.
Where sorting is unavailable
Soundiiz cannot apply this action to Apple Music, YouTube, or YouTube Music. The playlist must also be yours, not an automatically generated or read-only playlist. Sort tracks applies to playlists, not to liked tracks, albums, or artists in your library.

Stored order and visual sorting are different
A music service can show the same playlist in two different ways. Soundiiz uses the playlist order made available to connected apps, not a temporary display preference selected in the music service.
The order copied during a transfer
A transfer receives the source playlist in its stored order and adds the matched tracks to the destination in that sequence.
If the source app is visually sorted by Date added, Recently added, or another display option, the transferred playlist may not match the order currently shown on screen. That visual preference is not the playlist order Soundiiz receives.
What happens after adding another track
Sorting by Position in Descending order is a one-time reversal. It does not create a permanent “newest first” rule for future additions.
Running the same sort again after a new addition reverses the entire current playlist, including the older tracks. It does not move only the new track to the top.
Use Position and Descending as a one-time reversal
If the stored order is currently oldest first, Position with Descending can put the newest tracks first at that moment. Check the preview before confirming. Future additions will still go to the end of the stored order.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why did my transfer not keep the Date added order shown in the source app?
Date added can be a visual sort that changes only the source app's display. Soundiiz transfers the source playlist's stored order instead.
Can Position and Descending keep my playlist newest first automatically?
No. It reverses the current stored order once. A future track is added at the end, and running the sort again reverses the entire playlist.
Can Soundiiz sort by the date a track was added?
No. Date added is not one of the available Sort tracks fields. Position refers to the playlist's stored order, not to a date-based view.
Why can I preview a sort but not apply it?
The playlist may be read-only, automatically generated, owned by another account, or on a music service that does not support this action.
Will sorting change my playlist on Spotify or another service?
Yes. This action changes the connected service playlist itself; it is not only a Soundiiz display preference.
