Sign in with your Emby Connect account
Soundiiz uses the Emby Connect login process to handle the connection to your server.
Be sure to use these Emby Connect credentials to connect Emby to Soundiiz. Use this link to create an Emby Connect account / try your login and password => http://app.emby.media/#!/startup/connectlogin.html
Either the Emby Connect username or its email address gets you through here. What never works is the account you use on the server itself, when it is a different one.
Attach your server to that account
Be sure in your Emby user settings to set the email of your Emby Connect account.
Also, suppose your Emby Connect username is different than the username you use to admin your server. In that case, you must go into Users settings, select Admin User, and then link the two usernames to the profile screen.
This step is what makes your server ours to find: we ask Emby Connect for the list of servers on your account, and a server that was never linked simply is not on it. Nothing else in the interface tells you so.
Let us reach the server
After that, you should also check that your Emby server is reachable outside of your local network. You have to allow "External Connections" in your Emby server settings. Here is a tutorial for that too: https://support.emby.media/support/solutions/articles/44001849007
Also, if you are using a Proxy / VPN (like Cloudflare...) in front of your server, be sure to update your Emby Network Setting "Secure connection mode" to "Handled By reverse proxy"
A protection layer can also turn our requests away outright, whatever Emby is set to. When that happens it needs the Soundiiz addresses let through, and a page of its own shows how to find them in your logs.
If your IP address changes
If you are using a non-static IP, be sure to leave empty the "IP:PORT" field in the Soundiiz advanced Emby login settings empty, but fill the "Server Name" field with the exact server name value (case-sensitive).
Frequently Asked Questions
I sign in to Emby every day, so why are my credentials refused?
Because the account you use on the server is not always the Emby Connect one, and only the second gets you in here. If both exist under different names, they have to be linked, which is the step above. Note the wording: a message that names your server configuration rather than your credentials means the password was accepted.
Do I have to fill in the address of my server?
No. Emby Connect hands us the address on its own, so leaving those settings closed is right for most people. They exist for the cases below them, an address that moves, or several servers on one account.
I have more than one server on my account
Name the one you want in the Server Name field, spelled exactly as Emby shows it, capitals included. Left empty, we take the first one on the list that answers, which may not be the one you had in mind.
Do I have to leave the server on?
Yes, both to connect and while a transfer runs. We check that it answers before going any further, so a server that sleeps is a server we skip.
